System Administrator

About the role
We are looking for a proactive and technically capable System Administrator to manage, maintain, and enhance our clients’ IT systems and server environments. This role is key to ensuring system availability, security, and performance across on-premises and cloud platforms.
You’ll work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support day-to-day operations, implement improvements, and respond effectively to incidents.
Key responsibilities
Administer and support Windows and/or Linux server environments
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (AD, Azure AD, LDAP)
Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
Perform system builds, upgrades, patching, and configuration management
Troubleshoot and resolve server, application, and OS-level issues
Support backup, recovery, and business continuity processes
Maintain system documentation and operational procedures
Participate in change management, incident response, and on-call rotations
Work with vendors and internal teams to deliver infrastructure projects
Required skills & experience
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, SCCM)
Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, CompTIA)
Desirable skills
Experience with cloud or hybrid environments
Knowledge of virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Understanding of ITIL processes
Vendor certifications (e.g. Cisco, HPE, Dell, CompTIA)
